The Plate Rack Co is a small family business based in the north Cotswolds at Lower Clopton farm approx. 3 miles from Chipping Campden. Offering a personal and efficient service from your initial enquiry through to the delivery of your item.

Here at The Plate Rack Co we make handmade freestanding furniture. We specialise in plate racks but also larger items such as kitchen islands, shelving, larders and dressers etc. We also offer a full kitchen service locally, photos of which can be seen on our Kitchens page and in the kitchen section of our online shop. We offer a full bespoke service, this can either be adjustments to our existing items or something entirely new. Please see our bespoke gallery for inspiration.

We use fully seasoned character oak, sourced locally (mainly from Hillbarn sawmills located at Snowshill near Broadway),finished with Danish Oil as standard to bring out the natural beauty of the grain.

All pine and painted items are constructed from a high quality red wood pine. Your painted furniture can be finished using any colour from the full range of farrow and ball.

Plate Racks

All of our plate racks are available to buy on our online shop.

As our name suggests we specialise in Plate Racks. Plate racks are an essential part of any kitchen, whether a large country kitchen or a smaller modern kitchen we have something to suit all.

A plate rack has the advantage of both looking good, providing a feature but also make accessing your plates and crockery a lot easier, no more routing around the back of the cupboard shifting stacks of plates around!

We have all of our standard plate racks made from pine or oak with a choice of finishes available to purchase from our online shop.

All of our items are made to order here in our workshop. We also have a bespoke service where we can produce the plate rack that you are looking for, whether altering sizes of our standard racks or making something to your own design.Take a look at our gallery page for some inspiration.

Our Materials

We source our oak from a local sawmill based near Broadway here in the Cotswolds. Each piece is unique, small colour variations and different grain patterns make oak an ideal choice to add character to your kitchen. To bring the wood to life we finish all of our oak products with Danish oil.

All of our painted products are produced using a high quality red wood pine and tulip wood. Hand painted with any Farrow & Ball colour of your choice this produces a excellent durable and hard wearing finish ready for many years of use.

All drawer units are fitted with full extension soft close runners. Finial hinges are used as standard on all doors with metal magnetic catches, your choice of handles are added to complete the look.
